- Postdoc positions in stem cell embryology
Description
Two postdoctoral positions are available to study bovine stem cells and embryology led by Dr. Zongliang (Carl) Jiang at the University of Florida, Gainesville, USA. The candidate will join an energetic research team with ample resources, excellent training opportunities, and publishing in high impact journals for following two topics.
The first candidate will have the opportunity to work with leading experts to develop independent research programs to drive bovine stem cell-based gametes (in vitro gametogenesis) that directly enable next generation breeding applications.
The second candidate will primarily utilize our published bovine stem cell embryo models (ESC, TSC, XEN and blastoid) together with gene editing and computational approaches to understand mechanisms underlying pre-/peri-implantation lineage crosstalk and elucidate how perturbations of these mechanisms contribute to developmental disorders. The candidate will also develop blastoid technology for animal reproduction applications.
Requirements
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with an established track record of success, including at least one first-author publication.
Familiarity with pluripotent stem cell and organoid culture systems (ideally cattle and other mammalian systems), advanced reproductive technologies (e.g., embryo micromanipulation), genome editing tools, and omics data analysis.
Interests and expertise in germ cell development and peri-implantation biology are highly recommended.
A Ph.D. degree within 3 years of postdoctoral experience in reproductive biology, developmental biology, cell and molecular biology, or a related field(s) is desirable.
The stipend for this postdoc follows University of Florida or NIH guidelines.
