FACULTY POSITION
The University of Vermont Cancer Center and the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics
in the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont seeks a full time, Tenure
pathway faculty member at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. Applicants must have
a Ph.D. or equivalent and an active cancer-relevant, peer-reviewed funded research program.
Candidates will join a dynamic and collaborative community of scientists, educators, and trainees who
are passionate about understanding the molecular mechanisms associated with protein structure and
function that impact molecular motors and cytoskeletal proteins involved in cell division and intracellular
transport and how these relate to human health and disease.
This is a research-focused position with at least some component of investigation relevant to cancer
biology. A major goal of the UVM Cancer Center is to work to eliminate and understand the molecular
mechanisms involved in tumor development, tumor microenvironment interactions, tumor metastases
and tumor dormancy. Candidates should be able to demonstrate prior and current success in obtaining
peer-reviewed cancer-relevant funding.
This position will be based in the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics, with concurrent
membership in the UVM Cancer Center. There is an opportunity to participate in teaching activities
and to work with learners at all levels. A generous start-up package is available and will be based on
