Description
Conduct complex and forensic investigations and on-site analysis to determine the origin, cause, and duration of damage related to various property conditions such as water damage, fungal growth, fire-smoke residues and other indoor environmental related concerns.
Conducts complex investigations and on-site analysis to recognize, eliminate, and control occupational health hazards and diseases.
Recognize hazards and determine methods of evaluation for chemical, biological and fire (combustion byproduct) substances.
Perform mold and moisture assessments.
Determine remediation/restoration protocols to address asbestos, lead, mold, moisture and other environmental hazards.
Deliver indoor air quality (IAQ) investigations, including HVAC assessments and occupant complaint response.
Collects samples of biological growth, dust, gases, vapors, and other potentially toxic materials for analysis.
Measures airborne concentrations of dust, gases and mists using air sampling tools and collections devices.
Complete daily field documentation, including reports, photographs, and chain-of-custody forms to maintain defensible project records.
Provide expert witness support in litigation matters, including testimony as required.
Provide technical guidance and support for team members.
Develop and present continuing education materials
Requirements
Texas Mold Assessors License Required
Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences, biological sciences, or engineering required
Emphasis on environmental health, industrial hygiene, physiology, toxicology or biology from an accredited college or university preferred
Eight (8) or more years of related experience in environmental science, industrial hygiene or equivalent combination of education and experience highly desired
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation highly desired.
Americal Council for Accredited Certification and/or IICRC Certifications desired.
Large Loss experience highly desired
Expert witness and litigation support highly desired
Experience working with law firms and insurance companies preferred
Must possess excellent verbal written communication skills, knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and spelling required. Ability to effectively present information to individuals or groups as required.
Must possess knowledge of the principles of industrial hygiene and indoor environmental assessments
Must possess knowledge of scientific methods used in health hazard control
Must possess knowledge in environmental consulting and remediation, including liability assessment, insurance claims, advisory work, and expert witness engagements
Must possess knowledge of state and federal status concerning industrial hygiene and air pollution
Requires strong analytical and field inspection skills with ability to interpret field data
Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
Ability to work independently and use initiative, exercise conceptual thinking, excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem solving, analysis and discretion.
Organized and able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Computer knowledge of Windows environment, Microsoft Office Products, ability to learn and use other software programs.
Possess a Driver’s License and ability to use personal vehicle for Company business.
Adhere to the Company Drug Free Workplace Policy and successfully complete pre-employment and random drug screenings.
Successfully complete background-screening process, including criminal, social security verification, credit history, workers’ compensation, and MVR screenings.
