Position Description:
The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine is seeking to hire a full-time faculty member to teach immunology-based curriculum in Medical, Dental, and Graduate-level programs. This position is a term track 12-month appointment with a rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, commensurate with experience. Candidates must have a PhD in a related field and a strong record of relevant teaching experience.
The successful candidate will:
- Instruct all students using best practices in a lecture setting as well as in small group settings in the support of Medical, Dental, and Graduate instructional programs.
- Direct or co-direct courses in Graduate and Dental programs.
- Work with Course Directors to develop curriculum and lecture materials in alignment with existing course structure and content requirements, and facilitate multidisciplinary application-based learning exercises, including problem-based learning scenarios.
- Work collaboratively with other faculty in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology to further the academic mission of the department via serving on PhD candidacy exams and thesis / dissertation committees.
- While this is a teaching focused position, candidates are expected to engage in scholarly activity such as collaborative research, development of new curricula or innovative teaching strategies, directing potential training programs and participation in potential training grant submission. Similarly, departmental and university service commitments are expected. Research effort is expected to be minimal.

- Summative Teaching Assessments Statement Including Evidence of Peer and Student Assessments of Teaching ; or Two or Three Statements / Letters from prior Students (including graduate student mentees)
- A List of Three Professional References (preferably from those who can speak to aptitude in teaching).
The ideal candidate will have an established track record of teaching immunology at a professional or graduate level, and research experience in a field related to immunology.
