Texas State University-San Marcos is a doctoral granting university located in the burgeoning Austin-San Antonio corridor, the largest campus in the Texas State University System, and the 6th largest in the state. Texas State’s 26,783 students choose from 115 undergraduate and 84 masters and 6 Ph.D. programs offered by seven colleges (Applied Arts, The Emmett and Miriam McCoy College of Business Administration, Education, Fine Arts and Communication, Health Professions, Liberal Arts, and Science), the University College, and The Graduate College. With a diverse campus community including over 27% of the student body from ethnic minorities, Texas State is one of the top 20 producers of Hispanic baccalaureate graduates in the nation. In the fall of 2006, there are 850 full-time faculty and 1,614 full-time staff.
