- PostDoctoral Fellow Cell Biology of Mucosal Host Defense
Description
We invite applicants for a postdoctoral fellow position in the Lencer Lab. The successful candidate will help lead an NIH-funded research program focused on understanding how the single-cell-thick layer of epithelial cells lining the intestine use membrane glycosphingolipids to sense invasion by enterotoxins or enteric viruses and mount innate defense against infection through downregulation of the apical endosome—a newly identified mechanism of mucosal host defense (see Cell Host & Microbe, 2022; PMC8852832).
The position offers opportunities for career development and a project that can serve as a platform for launching an independent research program.
Requirements
PhD, MD, or MD/PhD is required.
Skills and experience in polarized epithelial cell culture, molecular biology and CRISPR gene editing, protein chemistry and recombinant protein expression and purification, ELISA, FACS, and bulk and single cell transcriptional analysis desired
