Med-Pharmacology and Chemical Biology - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (25006295)
The Wang Laboratory in the Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology at the University of Pittsburgh seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to lead innovative projects dissecting cancer signaling pathways and developing targeted therapeutics, with a particular focus on prostate cancer, and to contribute to other related collaborative efforts, including work in cerebrovascular biology/stroke.
Research Focus
1. Dissecting oncogenic signaling networks in prostate cancer
2. Preclinical evaluation of candidates in cellular and rodent cancer models
3. Mechanistic studies linking genotype to therapeutic response and resistance
4. Target discovery and validation using genome engineering and functional screens
5. Development of quantitative, multi-omic assays to profile pathway activity and drug effects
Required Qualifications
• PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g., Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Cancer Biology, Chemical Biology)
• Experience with rodent models (e.g., xenograft, GEMM, orthotopic or PDX; stroke-related models)
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive projects to completion
• Strong hands-on training in molecular biology, cell biology, mouse genetics, and signal transduction
• Bioinformatics and omics analysis (e.g., RNA-seq/single-cell RNA-seq).
• Effective written communication skills
Appointment, Salary & Benefits
• Full-time appointment; initial one-year term with the possibility of annual renewal based on performance and mutual agreement
• Salary follows current NIH guidelines and is commensurate with experience and qualifications
