Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

The Henikoff Lab in the Basic Sciences Division is seeking a reliable Lab Aide to perform laboratory maintenance tasks and established routine protocols under direct supervision. This is an ideal position for a student interested in gaining laboratory experience while maintaining the flexibility to dedicate time to coursework. The position will start in January 2026 - August 2026.

Responsibilities

• Stocking lab supplies, preparing reagents, disposing of biohazardous waste.
• General lab cleaning and organization.
• Collecting and processing samples from cells and formalin fixed paraffin-embedded human tissue samples.
• Assisting with additional experiments as needed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent; OR,
• High school senior with lab-based experience or demonstrated interest in the sciences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Enrollment in an undergraduate institution is preferred, preferably as a sophomore or junior in the biological sciences (e.g. biology, immunology, or microbiology).
• Previous or current laboratory experience is preferred but not a requirement.
• Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
• Basic computer skills and comfort with learning new software systems.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.30 to $30.13 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship at this time.
