Budget Title: Instructional Support Associate (SL-2)
Salary: $51,261
The Department of Biological Sciences at Binghamton University (http://www.binghamton.edu/biology/) is seeking candidates for a full-time position as Instructional Support Associate, beginning Winter 2025.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Preparing materials and bacterial cultures for microbiology laboratory courses
- Ordering supplies needed for the microbiology laboratory courses
- Providing instructional support and assistance for microbiology laboratory courses
- Working with teaching assistants to familiarize them with the protocols and instrumentation used in the microbiology laboratory courses
- Setting up, cleaning and maintaining assigned instructional laboratory spaces
- Maintaining assigned laboratory equipment
- Assisting with microbiology course development
- Supervising potential work study students assisting in lab preparation.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Biology or a related field
- Training or experience in microbiology
- Demonstrated experience with microbiology techniques and instrumentation
- Effective organizational and written/verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working with a diverse group of people
Preferred:
- Master's degree (or higher)
- Work experience at the college level
- Experience in assisting in teaching laboratory courses
