- Faculty Instructor Research - Full-Time
Description
The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, is seeking a Faculty Research Instructor appointment stream to conduct research focusing on uncovering the molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular and cardiometabolic diseases with a special emphasis on the innate immune system (namely macrophages). This research also extends to the translational front using human monocytes and macrophages as well as human tissue specimens. The faculty member will engage in several projects in collaboration with other lab members related to the role of lysosomes in macrophage biology and atherosclerosis and obesity. His expertise in flow cytometry is very helpful in this regard as he is able to subtype the various immune cell classes, identifying their distinct roles in disease pathogenesis.
Effort Allocation: 100% Research
Minimum Qualifications - PhD in Life Science, Science, or related field. Postdoctoral experience for a minimum of 3 years with cardiovascular and cardiometabolic diseases.
