Description
ProSource, a leader in the right of way, acquisition, and relocation industry, is searching for an Environmental Group Manager. Headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, ProSource is poised for expansion and growth and are looking for the perfect Environmental Manager to join our team.
This position will be a hybrid role, with travel required.
The Environmental Group Manager leads a multidisciplinary environmental team supporting the development, permitting, and execution of energy infrastructure projects, including pipelines, powerlines, solar, and wind facilities. This role combines business development, staff leadership, and technical oversight, ensuring high-quality environmental services while expanding the firm’s energy-sector client base and project backlog.
Business Development & Client Management
Lead and support business development initiatives for energy-sector clients, including utilities, developers, and engineering partners
Identify and pursue new opportunities related to pipeline, powerline, solar, and wind permitting and NEPA compliance
Prepare and review proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates
Maintain strong client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor on environmental permitting and regulatory strategy
Collaborate with engineering, planning, and construction teams to support project pursuits
Project & Technical Oversight
Provide technical leadership and strategic oversight for environmental permitting and compliance efforts
Oversee preparation and review of environmental documents, including: NEPA and state-level environmental reviews
Biological, cultural, and wetland studies
Environmental impact assessments and permitting applications
Guide permitting strategies for linear infrastructure and renewable energy projects
Ensure projects meet regulatory, schedule, budget, and quality objectives
Staff Leadership & Group Management
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of environmental professionals, including project managers and technical specialists
Allocate staff resources to support project workloads and business growth
Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and support professional development
Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture
Operational & Financial Management
Manage group workload, budgets, and financial performance
Track utilization, revenue, and profitability for assigned projects and staff
Implement best practices to improve efficiency, quality, and consistency across projects
Support health, safety, and quality assurance programs
Requirements
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Planning, Engineering, or related field
10+ years of experience in environmental consulting or related, with a focus on energy or infrastructure projects
Proven success in business development and client relationship management
Demonstrated experience in permitting and environmental review for energy projects
Experience managing staff and multidisciplinary teams
Strong understanding of NEPA, state environmental regulations, and permitting processes
Preferred:
Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CEP, PWS, or similar)
Experience working with utilities, independent power producers, or renewable developers
Established working relationships with federal, state, and local agency contacts
Existing contacts with potential new clients

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The Environmental Group Manager will spend a significant amount of time working in an office environment, using a computer and other standard office equipment. The position may also require travel as deemed necessary. The job may require sitting or standing for extended periods of time and may involve some light lifting or carrying of documents or equipment.
