- Arizona Bald Eagle Nestwatch Contractor
Description
THE ARIZONA GAME AND FISH DEPARTMENT NEEDS UP TO 16 FIELD TECHNICIANS for the Arizona Bald Eagle Nestwatch Program; $140/day with a 10 day on/4 day off schedule. Payments are made following ever 2 10-day work periods. Nestwatchers will be camping on location. Private contractors will be hired to monitor breeding bald eagles at 8 to 12 breeding areas throughout Arizona's riparian corridors from January 28th thru a minimum of May 15, 2026. Contractors must have their own transportation to and from the assigned monitoring site (4WD preferred), camping equipment, and binoculars. Dogs are not allowed. Contractors will collect bald eagle behavioral data, contact and educate recreating public, and help enforce closures around the breeding area. At the end of the season, a final summary report will be required. There is a 10% withholding of payments pending return of equipment and receipt of the final summary report(s). Qualifications: Wildlife/Biology related Bachelor’s Degree. Previous birding, raptor, and behavioral data collection experience preferred but not required.
